Hurukatpi Stores

Our place is at 71 Shrinivasa Mandiram Building, right on the Link Road in Balepet. If you know the Linkway Estate, we are tucked in that area. Balepet is always moving, with people carrying loads and scooters zipping past every second. Being in an older building like Shrinivasa Mandiram has its quirks. The hallways are a bit narrow and the stairs can be steep if you are carrying something heavy. Hurukatpi Stores is basically just one main room filled with whatever we are currently stocking. We spend a lot of time counting items and making sure the ledgers match up at the end of the day. There is a specific smell of old paper and dust that seems to stay no matter how much we clean. The windows look out onto the street, so we see all the chaos of the market from above. It’s not a place for lounging around. We usually have a lot of crates stacked up near the entrance, which makes it a bit of a squeeze to get in. Most of our day is spent talking to suppliers or trying to find where we put a specific tool. It’s a honest day's work in a part of town that never really sleeps. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team, just our names on the door and a lot of work to do. We usually finish up late and lock the heavy gate ourselves before heading home.
