J. K. S. Engineering Works

J. K. S. Engineering Works is located over in Singasandra, right near the SKF Bearing place. We are at No. 113/14 and it’s a standard engineering shop setup that we've had for years. We have been working out of this space, dealing with metal, parts, and whatever else needs fixing or making. The noise from the machines is pretty constant during the day, which can be a bit much, but you get used to it. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, and we usually go home with grease on our clothes. People bring in drawings or just broken parts and ask if we can sort them out. Sometimes it's a quick fix on the spot and other times we have to spend all day on the lathe to get it right. Being near the main road helps people find us easily, though the traffic in Singasandra can be a real headache in the evenings when everyone is leaving work. We don't have a big office staff or anyone to answer the phones constantly. Usually, you just walk in and talk to whoever is free on the floor. We keep our tools in order as much as we can, but things get messy when we're busy. It’s a practical place for practical work. We don't spend money on fancy brochures because our work speaks for itself when the parts fit like they should. The guys here have been doing this for a long time. We just open up, get through the list, and try to get everything out.
