Himalayan Dowry

You can find Himalayan Dowry at 72, M.G. Road. We have been here for a good while now, right in the middle of all the noise and traffic. The name comes from the kind of things we used to see back home, but now we are just here running this shop. It is a pretty straightforward operation. We have rugs and textiles piled up, and we spend most of the day unfolding them for people or packing them up to go somewhere else. It is a lot of physical work, lifting the heavy ones. My brother and I usually handle the front, while a couple of others help with the heavy lifting in the back. M.G. Road is always busy, so there is never a dull moment outside. We do not really have a philosophy or anything. We just sell what we think is decent and try to be fair about it. Some of the patterns we have are very old, things you do not see much anymore. We like those the best. The shop gets a bit dusty because of the main road, so we are always cleaning. It is just a regular local business. We are not part of some big chain. When you come in, you are talking to the people who actually own the place. We just want to keep the doors open and keep the stuff moving. It has been our life for years.
