Haryana Handloom

Haryana Handloom is my little shop over in Indira Nagar Athwalines, right at 3 2 CMH Road. It’s a good location because people walk by all the time on their way to the bigger markets. I have stacks of fabric and heavy blankets piled up high against the walls. Sometimes they reach the ceiling and I have to use a ladder to get them down. It smells like cotton and wool in here all year round. I spend most of my day unfolding things for customers to see the patterns and then folding them back up again once they leave. It is a lot of physical work for one person. The shop isn't very big, so it gets crowded quickly if more than a couple of people come in at the same time. I’ve got a small wooden stool behind the counter where I sit when things are quiet. I don't use a computer for any of my sales or inventory; I just write everything down in a big blue notebook. The building on CMH Road is quite old but it stays dry when it rains, which is the most important part for my stock. I’ve known the other shopkeepers around here for many years and we look out for each other. If I need to step out to get some lunch, the neighbor watches my door. It’s a simple way to live and work. People come here because they know I have what they need and I don't charge more than is fair.
