H K G N Bag Industries is situated at 328, right across from the Chandralayout Bus Depot on 9th Cross. We’re in the 2nd Phase of Chandra Layout. It’s a pretty busy area because of all the buses coming in and out of the depot all day. You can hear the engines and the horns from inside our workshop. We focus on making bags here. It’s more of a small-scale manufacturing unit than a shiny retail store. We have a few heavy-duty sewing machines and a cutting table where we prep the material. We make a lot of backpacks and those sturdy bags people use for carrying heavy stuff. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the rolls of fabric and the finished bags waiting to be picked up. We don’t have a big staff, just a few skilled workers who know how to handle the machines. Sometimes we take custom orders for local businesses or schools. It’s honest work and we stay pretty busy most months. The lighting inside isn't the best, but we’ve got used to it over the years. We usually take a break in the afternoon when the sun is hitting the front of the building. It’s not a glamorous job, but there is something nice about seeing a pile of raw material turn into something useful by the end of the day. We’ve been here for a while now.
