About Gvr Coffee Shop – Food & Beverages in Bengaluru
The stairs up to the first floor at M-619 in Rajajinagar are a bit narrow. If two people are coming down while you are going up, someone has to wait. Once you get inside the shop, the first thing you notice is the smell of the beans being ground. It’s a small space, so it fills up quickly. We have a few small tables pushed against the walls. The paint on the window frames is starting to peel a little bit near the corners where the sun hits it most. On the counter, there is a big glass jar for the biscuits and the coffee machine that we spent all morning cleaning. We spend a lot of time just refilling the sugar bowls and checking the milk cartons in the fridge. The traffic noise from Rajajinagar comes through the windows even when they are shut. It’s a steady background sound of horns and engines. We get a lot of people who work in the nearby shops coming up for a quick break. They usually stand near the balcony edge while they drink. The floor is that old grey tile that shows every bit of spilled sugar, so we are always sweeping. By three in the afternoon, the sun makes a big bright patch on the floor near the entrance. We just keep the water boiling and the cups ready. It’s not a big operation, just enough to keep us busy from morning till we close the gate.
