Guruprasad Engineers

Our workshop is located at 10 Ulsoor Cambridge Road, inside the Vinyas building. It is a place filled with the smell of cut metal and machine oil. We have been working here for many years, dealing with different kinds of engineering jobs that people bring in. The floor is made of concrete and usually has some metal shavings or loose bolts scattered around near the heavy workbenches. We have a few machines that take up most of the room, and they make a lot of noise when they are running at full speed. It is not a clean or quiet place, but it is where the actual work happens. The staff is just a few experienced guys who know how to handle the tools without needing much instruction. We keep our spare parts in old wooden crates stacked along the back wall. Sometimes the light from the windows isn't enough to see clearly, so we have these bright industrial lamps hanging from the ceiling. Cambridge Road can get quite crowded with traffic in the evenings, so getting deliveries in and out can be a bit of a headache. We do not spend much time in the tiny office part; we are usually out on the floor fixing something or checking a measurement with a vernier. It is a straightforward shop where we take on whatever technical problems come our way. We usually have an old radio playing in the background, though you can barely hear the music over the grinding sounds.
