Gulab Tea And Allied Agencies is found right in the middle of Mamulpet at number 69. Most people just know us as Gulab Tea House because we’ve been here near the Lal building for a long time. The lanes around here are very narrow and always crowded with people and carts, so it’s a lively place to work. When you walk into our shop, the first thing you notice is the smell of the dry tea leaves. We have big sacks of different blends piled up. It’s not a modern shop with glass shelves; it’s more traditional with old wooden counters and scales. We spend our time weighing out tea for customers and talking to the regulars who have been coming to us for years. Some people want just a small bag, and others are buying for their own small stalls. We also handle some other related items, which is why the "Allied Agencies" part is in the name. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep a lot of stock on hand. The walls have seen better days, but the tea is what matters. We don't have a big marketing plan. We just open the shutters in the morning and start serving whoever walks in.
