Good Water

Working out of the Adiga Building on Hosur Road at 409 is a bit of a challenge sometimes. The main road is always jammed with cars and buses heading towards the city or out to the electronics area. We handle all the water supplies from this small office. It is not much to look at, just a few desks and a lot of logbooks piled up. The phone rings pretty much constantly during the summer months when everyone is running dry. We have to coordinate with the drivers who are stuck in that Hosur Road traffic for hours. It is frustrating for them and for the people waiting at home. We try to be honest about the timing. If a tanker is stuck, it is stuck. There is no point in making up stories about it. The building itself is busy too, with lots of other small businesses around us. We get our own water from the sources outside and distribute it to the flats and the offices that need it. Sometimes the pump breaks down or a pipe leaks, and then we are scrambling to fix things. It is a lot of logistics. Most of the guys here have been doing this for years so they know the shortcuts, but even then, the traffic wins most days. We just do the job day by day. It is mostly about managing the schedule.
