Our office is up on the fourth floor of the S. Dhondusa Complex, right near Richmond Circle on Residency Road. It’s a busy part of Bangalore, so getting up here through the traffic can be a real chore sometimes. The building has been here for a long time, and you can tell by the stairs and the way the elevator sounds. We’ve been operating Globe Engineering from this spot for quite a while now. Since we are on the fourth floor, we get a bit of a view of the trees on Residency Road, but mostly we are looking at blueprints and spec sheets. We don’t do the heavy manufacturing here; this is more where the planning and the business side of things happen. It’s a bit cramped with all the filing cabinets and the desks we’ve squeezed in, but it works for us. Sometimes the neighbors in the complex are loud, and the city noise never really stops. We spend a lot of our day on the phone or meeting with people who drop by. It’s not a fancy corporate office with glass walls or anything. It’s just a practical space where we can get our work done without too many distractions from the street level. We’ve had the same furniture for years, and the walls are covered in calendars and old project photos. It’s a comfortable enough place for a long day’s work and we enjoy being in the city center.
