Down at number 17 in the Vidyaranyapura Center Point area, you’ll find our workshop. We are part of the R K Reddy Industrial Estate on A M Road. It’s a loud place, honestly. Between the machines running and the trucks coming in and out of the estate, there is always a lot of noise. Gayathri Engineering Industries is a small operation, mostly focused on getting parts made for other local businesses. We’ve got a handful of workers who have been with us for years. They know their way around the lathes and the drills better than anyone. We don't spend much time on paperwork or making things look pretty. The floors usually have some metal shavings on them and there’s always the smell of machine oil in the air. That is just how a machine shop is. We’ve been in this industrial estate for quite a while now. We’ve seen other shops come and go, but we’ve managed to stay put at our spot on A M Road. Dealing with the power cuts and the heat is just part of the daily routine for us. We just focus on the drawings people bring in and try to get the pieces cut right. It’s a simple business of making things that fit together. Most of our day is spent checking measurements and making sure the machines are behaving themselves. We’re just regular folks doing our jobs in the middle of a busy industrial zone.
