About Gayathri Candle Works – Housewares & Supplies in Bengaluru
We operate out of No. 119/350 in the K.C.G. Industrial Area, which is in Kamakshipalya. Gayathri Candle Works is a simple operation. We spend our days melting wax, setting wicks, and waiting for things to cool down. The air always smells a bit like paraffin and sometimes scent if we are doing a special batch. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful with how we stack the finished boxes. Kamakshipalya is a hardworking neighborhood, and we fit right in. We don’t have a fancy website or a big sales team. Most of our customers are locals or small shops that have known us for years. It’s a repetitive job, but there’s something nice about seeing the finished candles lined up on the racks. We start early to avoid the worst of the afternoon heat, as wax doesn't do well when it's too hot in the room. Some days are busier than others, especially before festivals when everyone wants candles. The staff is just a few local people who live nearby. We walk to work or take the bus. It’s a quiet life for the most part, just focusing on the vats and the molds. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just make candles and try to keep the business going one day at a time. It’s been our way of life for a long while now and we are happy staying right here.
