Garam Matka Tea Shop

Garam Matka Tea Shop is right on 64 Hosur Main Road, over in Gb Palya, Bommanahalli. It’s a tiny place, really just a spot on the side of the busy main road. We do tea in the clay pots, which is what most people come here for. The road outside is always noisy with trucks and cars heading towards the city, so it’s a bit of a dusty spot. We have a few benches where people can sit, but most just stand around and talk while they drink their tea. We start early in the morning, getting the milk boiled and the tea leaves ready. It’s a simple business. We don't have a menu or anything like that, you just ask for a tea and that’s what you get. Sometimes we have a few snacks like biscuits or buns if we managed to get some fresh ones. The floor is just concrete and the walls have some old posters on them. It’s not the kind of place where you’d take a business meeting, but for a quick break while you are traveling, it works just fine. We see a lot of drivers and laborers who need a bit of sugar and caffeine to keep going. We don’t do any advertising. People just see the steam coming from the pots and stop their bikes. It’s just a small tea shop on a very busy road in Bommanahalli.
