About Ganesh Tea Centre – Food & Beverages in Bengaluru
Ganesh Tea Centre is located at 205/1 Sultanpet. This is a very old part of the city, and the streets are very narrow. I wake up early every morning to get the shop ready. By the time the sun is up, the water is already boiling. We’ve been in Sultanpet for a long time, and the building shows its age. It’s a small space, but we make it work. Most of the people who come here are workers from the nearby shops or people passing through the market. They want a quick cup of tea and maybe a small snack. I don't have a menu or anything printed out. Everyone knows what we have. It’s usually loud outside with all the carts and people shouting. Inside, it’s just the sound of the stove and glasses clinking. I do most of the work myself, though sometimes a relative helps out during the busy afternoon rush. The walls are a bit stained from the steam, and the floor is worn down from all the feet. I like being at 205/1 because it’s right in the middle of everything. You see all kinds of people in Sultanpet. Some stay for a bit to chat, others just drink and leave. We don't try to be a modern cafe. It’s just a tea centre where you get a hot drink for a fair price. That’s all it has ever been and all it needs to be.
