Our workshop is at B 130/1 Peenya 3rd Cross, in the 1st Stage of the Industrial Estate. Like most places in Peenya, it’s a loud and busy environment. We do a lot of fabrication and general engineering work here. There’s usually someone welding in one corner and someone else using a grinder in another, so there are sparks and a lot of noise. The floor is concrete and always has some oil patches or metal scraps lying around. We have a small crew that has been working together for a long time. We don’t have a fancy reception area or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in our work gear, likely covered in a bit of soot. We take on various jobs for the other factories in the industrial estate. Sometimes we’re working on large frames and other times it’s just small brackets. The heat from the welding machines makes the workshop quite warm, especially in the afternoons. We have a couple of fans, but they don’t do much. It’s a straightforward place where we focus on getting the metal cut and joined properly. We don’t spend much time on the computer unless we’re checking a drawing. It’s just hard, physical work in the heart of the industrial area. We keep things simple and just focus on the welding and the cutting as the orders come through each day.
