G C Tastemakers Pvt Ltd

Over at 42/2 in Marathahalli, things are usually pretty busy at G C Tastemakers Pvt Ltd. We spend most of our mornings sorting through ingredients and getting things ready. The smell of spices is really strong in here, so much that you stop noticing it after ten minutes. Our building isn't much to look at from the outside. It’s just a plain front on a busy street. We have a small crew that has been together for a couple of years now. We argue sometimes about how much salt to use or where the crates should go, but we get the work done. The back door stays open for a breeze because it gets quite hot near the stoves. We aren't a big corporate setup. It’s mostly just us doing the prep work and making sure everything tastes like it should. Sometimes deliveries are late and we have to scramble. Marathahalli is a loud place with all the construction and traffic, so we usually have the radio playing to drown it out. The floors are concrete and they’ve seen better days. We don't have a fancy office or anything. There’s just a desk in the corner with a lot of papers on it. We focus on the food and making sure the jars are sealed right. It’s a lot of manual work. Our hands are usually stained with something or other by the end of the shift but we don't mind too much.
