Engineer

My name is the son of H T Rangaswamy, and you can find me over at the Telephone Quarters in Hirisave. I’ve been doing engineering work here in the Channarayapattana taluk for a while now. Hassan district is home for me, and I like working with the local people. The office is really just a room where I keep my papers and pens. It isn't anything special to look at. I focus on helping with the small projects that come up around the village and the nearby towns. Sometimes it's a building, and other times it's just some technical advice. I grew up around phones and wires because of where my dad worked, so I guess I always had a knack for fixing things. I don't have a fancy website or a marketing person to handle my image. I just wait for the phone to ring or for someone to knock on the door. It is a quiet life, but the work is interesting enough to keep me busy. I like being able to walk down the street and see something I helped with. Hirisave is a small place, so word of mouth is everything here. I just try to be honest about what can be done and how long it will take. No corporate talk, just plain English and some hard work. That is all there is to it. I usually spend my evenings finishing up some drawings before calling it a night.
