Dutta Engineering Works

You can find us over at 21/A in the Narayan Reddy Industrial Area. We are right opposite the T.T.K. Ltd factory, which makes it easy for people to give directions to our shop in Dooravaninagar. The shop floor is always covered in a bit of oil and metal shavings because that’s just the nature of engineering work. We’ve got lathes and some milling machines that have been running for years. They aren't the newest models, but they get the parts made exactly how they need to be. It’s mostly just a few of us here. We start the day with tea and then get straight into whatever jobs came in the day before. The industrial area gets pretty hot during the day, and the fans don't do much, but we’re used to it. We don't spend much time on the computer or writing fancy reports. Most of our work is done with our hands and checking measurements with calipers. If a machine breaks down, we fix it ourselves. We’ve worked with a lot of the local businesses around here for a long time. People come to us when they need something specific made or repaired because they know we won’t overcharge them or give them a hard time. It’s a plain shop, but we do honest work and stay out of trouble. Sometimes the neighbor's trucks block the entrance, but we just shout and they move them.
