Dhanalakshmi Stores is easy to find because we are at number 1, right opposite the police station in Sangavi, Halasuru. It’s a busy little corner of the world. Having the station right there means there is always a lot of activity outside. We’ve been at this spot for quite many years. The store isn't very big, but we manage to fit everything we need inside. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes when more than two people are looking at the shelves. We don't have a lot of help, so we do most of the heavy lifting and cleaning ourselves. It’s a hands-on kind of business. We don’t have any grand mission statements or corporate goals. We just want to be open when people need a few things on their way home. Halasuru has a lot of energy, and we are glad to be right in the middle of it. The building is a bit older, so the walls have some character. We know almost every person who lives on this block. Some of them stop by just to say hello even if they don’t need to buy anything. That is the kind of place we are. We don’t spend money on ads. We just rely on being in a good location and being consistent. It’s a simple life running a store like this, and we’re happy with it. We just keep doing what we know.
