Design Concepts

Basavanagudi is a busy place, and being on S C Road means there is always noise from Netkalappa Circle. We are up on the second floor of number 168. It is not a very fancy place, just a workspace where we keep all our drawings and some old models that have gathered a bit of dust. Some days the lift works fine and other days it is better to just take the stairs to get some exercise. Design Concepts has been in this part of town for a while now. Most of the work involves sitting with people and trying to figure out how to make their space usable without spending too much money. There are rolls of blueprints lying in the corners. The light coming through the windows in the afternoon is quite bright, so we usually have to keep the blinds halfway down. It is just a few of us here. We drink a lot of tea from the shop downstairs because their ginger tea is actually decent. Sometimes the neighbors from the other offices come by to chat. Most of what we do is just drafting and checking measurements over and over. It gets tedious but that is just the nature of design work in a crowded city. We try to keep things organized but when a project gets busy, the desks get covered in pens and scraps of paper. It is just how it goes in a working office like this. No big speeches, just getting the lines right on the paper.
