You’ll find Dada And Company over at the APMC Yard in Yeshwantpur, specifically at 20/1 on the 2nd Main Road. If you’ve ever been to the yard, you know it’s a loud, busy place full of trucks and people moving crates. We’ve been a part of this noise for quite a while now. Our days start very early, often before the sun is even up, because that’s when the real work happens at the market. We deal with bulk goods, mostly. It’s dusty and there is always a lot of shouting back and forth to get things loaded. We don’t have a polished front office or a receptionist. Usually, you’ll find us with our sleeves rolled up, checking the quality of the stock or talking to the drivers. It’s practical work. We don’t use big words to describe what we do because it’s pretty simple—we buy, we store, and we sell. The floor is usually covered in bits of packing material, and the phone never stops ringing with people asking about prices. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we know. We’ve built relationships with other traders here over the years based on just being around and doing what we say we’ll do. It’s a community of sorts, even if it’s a rough and tumble one. We just keep our heads down and work through the orders until the trucks are gone for the day.
