Coorg

We are situated in Vadodara, specifically on Tarsali Road at number 477. This area around Kalyan Nagar and Indira Nagar is where we set up our shop. We bring products that are famous in the Coorg region, like certain spices and coffee beans. It’s a bit of a distance from the hills to here, but we manage to get our stock every few weeks. The shop is small and has a very specific smell of dried peppercorns and roasted coffee. I spend most of the day behind the counter. It’s not a very fast-paced business, which is how I like it. I have some wooden shelves that I built myself to hold the jars and packets. People come in and ask about where the stuff comes from, and I tell them about the plantations. It’s just me running the place, so if I have to step out for a bit, I have to lock the front door. The road outside can get quite busy in the evenings with people coming home from work. I keep a small radio playing in the background to keep me company. It’s a simple shop with no big displays or fancy lights. I just want to sell good things that people enjoy using in their kitchens. Sometimes the shipments take longer than expected, and the shelves look a bit empty, but our customers are patient and wait for the new batch to arrive from the south.
