Coco Grove Beer Cafe

If you find yourself wandering around Commercial Street, you’ve probably walked right past Coco Grove Beer Cafe near King Circle. We are tucked away in the Gandhi Market area at number 86, and things can get pretty loud outside with all the shoppers and traffic. Inside, it’s a bit different. We just serve cold beer and some snacks to anyone who needs a break from the heat. It isn’t a high-end lounge where everything is polished to a shine. The tables have a few scratches and the chairs might creak a bit when you sit down, but it’s a place to relax. We’ve seen this market change a lot over the years, but we just stay here doing our thing. Most of the regulars are guys from the neighborhood or people who work in the nearby shops. They come in for a quick drink after they close up for the day. We don't have a huge menu or anything complicated. Just a few taps and some bottles in the fridge. Sometimes the music is a bit too loud because the staff likes it that way, but we usually turn it down if someone asks. It’s just a simple spot for a drink. You don't have to dress up or worry about how you look. Just come in, find a stool, and let the busy market outside stay outside for a while.
