Citrus Cafee

We started Citrus Cafee here on the corner of St. Johns Road and Coles Road because we lived nearby and saw the empty space. It isn't a huge place, just a few tables and some chairs we’ve had since we opened. Most mornings start early, usually around six, when the milk arrives and we have to get the shutters up. Sometimes the lock sticks a bit, but that’s just how it is. It’s a busy spot with all the traffic going past. We spend a lot of time just keeping things tidy and making sure the coffee is hot. A few of the guys from the nearby offices come in every single day. They have their favorite spots to sit, and if someone else is there, they look a bit lost. It gets noisy when the lunch crowd hits, and we’re often running around trying to keep up. We don't have fancy uniforms or anything. Usually, it's just me and a couple of others in our regular clothes. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time yet. We keep the windows open mostly so the breeze comes in from Coles Road, though it brings in the dust too. It’s just a simple shop where we do our work and go home when the sun goes down. Nothing too complicated about it. We just like being part of this neighborhood and seeing the same faces every day while we handle the orders.
