Choco Bliss is tucked away at C-110 in Kammanahalli. It’s a small shop, maybe a bit too small when we have more than three people inside at once. We do a lot of the work right there behind the counter. You can usually smell the cocoa from down the street if the wind is right. We don't use any big machines, just some basic stuff and our hands. The cooling racks take up most of the space in the back. Sometimes the batches don't come out looking perfect, but they still get eaten. We have a lot of neighbors who drop by just to chat or see what’s new. It’s not a fancy place with gold foil or anything like that. We use simple brown paper mostly. The shelves are just wooden ones we put up ourselves. One of them is slightly slanted, but it holds the boxes okay. Working with chocolate is messy business. There’s always powder on someone’s apron. We keep the AC running cold so things don't melt, which means we’re all usually wearing sweaters even when it’s hot outside. We’ve been here in Kammanahalli for a while now and we like the pace of the neighborhood. It’s not too rushed. We take our time with the tempering and the wrapping. Sometimes we run out of sugar and someone has to run to the store across the way. It’s just a regular little shop doing its best with what we have here.
