Hosur Road is always a mess with traffic and we are right there at number 32. People stop in because they need a break from the driving or they are just walking to the office and want something hot to drink. Chai Point is a busy little operation and we spend most of our time brewing tea and making sure we don’t run out of milk or sugar. It’s not a quiet place to sit and read a book because there is always someone coming or going and the sound of the road is right there. We have a lot of regular customers who come in at the same time every morning and we usually have their order ready before they even get to the counter. The steam from the kettles keeps the place warm even when it’s raining outside. We don't have a big corporate feel here even though we are part of a bigger name; it’s just the few of us working the shifts and trying to keep the place clean. The floor gets muddy when it rains and we are constantly mopping it up. It’s just a regular job for us and we focus on the task at hand. We see the same faces every day and that makes the long hours feel a bit shorter. There’s no mystery to what we do, it’s just tea and snacks for people on the move, and we stay until the evening traffic starts to thin out.
