Chai Point

Our shop is tucked away on Corporate Road in Ashwath Nagar. If you work around here, you’ve probably walked past us a dozen times. We start the burners pretty early because people want their tea before they even get to their desks. The morning is usually a blur of steam and cardboard cups. We have a small team here, and we mostly just focus on keeping the pots going and making sure the biscuits aren't stale. The road outside can get pretty dusty with all the construction and cars, so we are always dusting the counters. It’s a practical little place. We don’t have much in the way of decor, just the basics to get the job done. Sometimes it gets so crowded that people have to stand outside on the pavement to finish their drinks. We see the same faces every single day, mostly the folks from the big offices nearby. You get used to the rhythm of the lunch rush and the late afternoon break when everyone leaves their cubicles at the same time. We try to keep the floors dry, but it’s hard when it rains and everyone brings the mud inside. It is just a simple tea spot where the kettle never really stops whistling until we close up for the night. We aren't doing anything fancy, just making sure the tea is hot and ready for the next person in line.
