Jhunu Batik

So, this is Jhunu Batik. We are located at Shop No. 129 in the Doddakannelli area. It’s right on Sarjapur Road, not too far from the Carmelaram Post office. It’s just a small shop, nothing too fancy to look at from the outside. We spend most of our time here working with the fabrics and the wax. It’s a messy process, to be honest. There’s always dye around and the smell of melting wax is just part of the day. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. The traffic on Sarjapur Road can be a bit much sometimes, but it brings people in. We don't really have a big team or anything. It’s just a couple of us making sure the patterns look right. Some days are busier than others. We get a lot of locals who just drop in to see what’s new on the shelves. We don't do much advertising. People just find us. The shop isn't perfectly organized, but we know where everything is. If you’re looking for us, look for the sign near the post office. We usually open up in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. Sometimes we close early if the weather is bad or if we have a lot of work to finish in the back. It’s just a regular place where we do our work and talk to the neighbors. No big corporate stuff here, just us and our batik.
