Cafe Amul

Our little cafe is at Jeevan Bhima Nagar 474. It is not a huge place, just a practical spot for people to grab a drink or a quick bite. We get the milk crates delivered early in the morning when the street is still quiet. The fridge takes up a lot of the space in the back area. We spend the first hour just getting the chairs sorted and making sure the counters are clean. People stop by on their way to work or while they are out running errands. Some sit for a few minutes and others just take their stuff and go. We have a couple of small tables but they fill up pretty fast during the busy hours. The sidewalk outside stays dusty so we have to sweep the front area a few times a day to keep it looking decent. It’s usually just two of us working the shift. We know most of the people who live in the blocks around here. It’s a nice enough neighborhood though the traffic on the main road can be a real headache. Sometimes our billing machine acts up and we have to write everything down by hand. It slows things down but we just deal with it. We keep a stock of the basic things people ask for. We close up when it gets dark and head home. It’s a simple life running a shop like this.
