We are situated right on Banneraghatta Road, which is always full of noise and movement. Our shop is a small brick building that we’ve tried to make comfortable. Inside, we have some wooden benches and a few stools at the counter. We don't have a huge staff, just a couple of us who take turns with the brewing and the cooking. The coffee machine is probably the most expensive thing we own. We spend a lot of time cleaning the steam wand and making sure the water is the right temperature. The food we serve is mostly stuff you can eat with your hands, like sandwiches or small cakes. We bake some of it in a small oven in the back corner. It’s not a professional bakery setup, just a home-style oven that works well enough. The windows are large but they get dusty from the road traffic, so we have to wash them almost every day. Sometimes the delivery trucks park right in front and block our view, but that’s just life on a main road. We don't have any big mission statements or goals. We just want to make sure the coffee tastes good and the place is open when we say it will be. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the buses rumbling by outside every few minutes. We keep the music low so people can hear themselves think. It’s just a normal spot to sit for a while.
