Brahmins Coffee Bar

We are over in Basavanagudi, located in the Pragati Society near the Shankar Mutt. The pin code is 560004. This coffee bar has been part of the neighborhood for a very long time now. It’s a small place, and we don’t really have any seating, so you’ll usually see people standing around on the sidewalk with their cups. We open up early in the morning when the sun is just coming up, and that’s usually when we are the busiest. People stop by on their way to the temple or while they’re out for a morning walk. It’s a very simple operation—we make the coffee, serve the food, and keep the counter clean. We don't have a big menu or any of those fancy modern coffee drinks. We just stick to what we’ve always done. The smell of coffee beans and steam is part of the air here. We’ve grown up in this area, so we know most of our customers by sight, if not by name. It’s a quiet life in some ways, but it’s always busy at the bar. We just keep our heads down and focus on the work. There aren't any big signs or advertisements; we just rely on people knowing we are here near the Mutt. It’s just a local spot for a quick cup and a chat.
