Bharathi Tea

You can find Bharathi Tea in Ward No.18, S.S. Puram, right on MG Road. We are pretty easy to spot because we are near the Vasan Eye Care center. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always a lot of foot traffic and people rushing by. Our shop isn't very large, but we’ve managed to pack a lot of tea into it. We have bags and boxes stacked almost to the ceiling in the back room. Sometimes it feels a bit like a maze. We get all kinds of people coming in. Some have been buying from us for years and know exactly what they want. Others are just passing through and want to try something new. We don't do much advertising. People usually find out about us from their neighbors or just by walking past and smelling the tea. The floor is a bit worn out from all the walking, and the counter is scratched, but it’s a working shop. We usually have the radio playing in the background, mostly local news or some music. It’s just me and my nephew running things most days. We keep it simple. If you want some tea, we show you what we have, you pick one, and that’s that. No fancy talk or complicated sales pitches. It’s just tea. We close up when the street lights come on and head home for dinner. It's a decent way to spend the day for us.
