Bharat Silks Group

We are Bharat Silks Group and our office is at No. 7/1 K. H. Road. We are on the 1st floor. K. H. Road is usually packed with traffic, so it’s always noisy outside our windows. Being on the first floor is okay, but we still hear all the horns. We work with silks, which is a very delicate thing compared to the chaos outside. Our rooms are filled with samples and swatches of different colors. It looks a bit like a rainbow sometimes. We’ve been in this building for quite a while. The elevator is a bit slow, so we usually just take the stairs. It’s not a huge corporate headquarters. It’s more of a practical space where we meet and talk about designs. We have people coming in and out all day. Some are suppliers, others are just checking on orders. We don't use much fancy talk here. We just discuss the fabric and the weave. Silk is a tricky business because the quality has to be just right. My father started this years ago, and we just kept it going. The desks are covered with folders and bits of thread. It’s a busy atmosphere but we like it. We usually have lunch at our desks because there is always something to finish. It’s just how we operate. We are right in the heart of the city, which makes it easy for people to find us.
