Bhagya Engineering Enterprises

Bhagya Engineering Enterprises is tucked away in N.S. Palya, right on the 3rd Main near Bannerghatta Road. It’s a busy spot and the dust from the road always seems to find its way inside the shop no matter how much we sweep. We do engineering work here, mostly fabrication and fixing parts that people bring in from the neighborhood. The machines we use are quite old but they still run fine if you know how to handle them. Usually, there are three of us working, and we keep the radio on to drown out the constant sound of the traffic outside. My hands are almost always stained with some kind of grease or soot, which is just part of the deal in this line of work. We have a lot of scrap metal piled up in the corner because you never know when a small piece might come in handy for a quick repair job. It’s not a fancy office with air conditioning or anything like that. We just have some plastic chairs for visitors and a lot of heavy tools. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. Dealing with the heat in the summer is probably the hardest part of being here. We’ve been at No. 55 A for a while now and most of the local people know where to find us if they need something welded. It’s just honest work that needs to be done every day.
