Benaka Coffee

Being on MG Road means there is never a dull moment. Benaka Coffee is right in the middle of all that noise and traffic. We chose this spot because it’s where everyone is. We aren't a big chain with polished floors and uniforms. It’s just a regular shop where the paint might be peeling a bit in the corners, but the coffee is real. We spend our mornings setting things up, making sure everything is clean for the office workers and shoppers who come through. It gets loud out there on the street, but inside it’s a bit different. We recognize most of the people who walk through the door. Some have been coming since we first opened. We don’t have a huge menu with names you can’t pronounce. We just do what we know. The machines can be temperamental sometimes, and we’ve had our fair share of long days trying to fix a leak or reorganize the storage. But that’s what happens when you run your own place. We stay busy, and that keeps us going. MG Road is a tough place to keep a business, but we’ve stuck it out. We just focus on the task at hand and try to be friendly to whoever walks in. It’s not a complicated philosophy. We just show up every day and do the work, making sure the mugs are clean and the pot is full. It’s just how we live.
