Baskin Robbins

We are over at Manipal Center on MG Road. It’s a busy spot, mostly because of all the offices around here. You can see the traffic crawling along outside from our window. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of the freezer humming. We spend a lot of time checking the temperatures and making sure the lids are closed right. The floor needs a lot of mopping because people come in with dusty shoes from the street. It’s just three of us working here most days. We keep a small radio in the back, but we can't always hear it when the blender is going. There are about six tables, and they get full around five in the evening. Sometimes the power goes out for a second and we have to reset the displays. It’s not a huge place, but it keeps us moving. We’ve been at this address for a while now. Most regulars just wave when they pass by. Sometimes we run out of napkins and have to run across the street. The lights are a bit bright, but it helps us see what we are doing. We just try to keep things tidy and get through the busy hours without dropping anything. It gets quiet after nine, and that’s when we start cleaning the counters properly for the next day. It’s just us doing our thing here in Bangalore 8, making sure everything is in its place before we head home for the night.
