Suvarna Silk House

You can find us inside M. M. Plaza, which is number 93 over on West of Chord Road in the LIC Colony area of Basaveshwaranagar. It’s a busy building but we like it here. We spend our days surrounded by rolls of silk and different fabrics. It’s a lot of colors to look at every morning when we open up the shutters. We aren't some massive warehouse; we’re just a local spot where we keep a good stock of materials. Sometimes the shelves get a bit messy when we're busy showing things to people, but we try to keep it organized. The lighting in the plaza isn't always the best, so we often take fabric near the window to see the real color. We’ve been in this part of Basaveshwaranagar for a long time. People around here know us as the place to get silk without a bunch of sales talk. We don't do much advertising. Mostly people just hear about us from their neighbors or walk in while they're doing other errands in the plaza. It gets warm in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going full blast. Working with silk is delicate, so we have to be careful with how we handle everything. It’s a quiet life, mostly. We just focus on our stock and making sure the shop stays open for whoever needs us. The floor gets a bit dusty from the fabric lint, but we sweep it every evening.
