Banumati is located at 99 Halasuru, not far from Old Thippasandra. It’s a residential area mostly, so it’s a bit calmer than the main market streets. The house where we work from is an old one, and we use the front part for the business. You can see the trees from the window, which is nice in the afternoons. I’ve been working in Halasuru for a long time and I know most of the shopkeepers on the way to Old Thippasandra. The space isn't very modern. We have some wooden chairs and a big heavy desk that was passed down to me. There’s always a stack of papers that needs sorting, and the printer sometimes makes a loud grinding noise, but it still works. We don’t have a website or any of those things. People just know where we are and they stop by when they need something. It’s a very old-fashioned way of doing things, I suppose. My days are spent mostly talking to visitors or handling the accounts. We don't have a big staff, just me and a cousin who helps out when things get busy. We drink a lot of tea and try to get through the work without too much fuss. It’s a simple life and a simple business. We don't have big plans to expand or move. We like it right here at number 99, near the old neighborhood spots.
