Babu Collections

Babu Collections is situated right at 10 M G Road in the Shivaji Nagar area. It is a very busy spot, and there is almost always something happening right outside our front door. We keep a variety of different things in the shop, mostly whatever items we have been able to stock up on lately. People around here call us Babu Collections because that’s what we are. The space we have is quite small, so we end up stacking things pretty high on the shelves. You really have to be careful not to knock anything over when you are walking through the aisles. We get plenty of foot traffic because M G Road is such a main thoroughfare. It is a great location for business, even if the traffic is a total nightmare during the evening rush hour. We have been here at number 10 for many years now. My father was the one who started it, and now we just try to keep things running. It’s not some fancy boutique or anything, just a normal shop where you can find a bit of everything. We don't use a computer for our sales, we just write everything down in our paper ledgers. It seems to work well enough for us. Sometimes the power goes out in Shivaji Nagar and we have to use old lamps to see. That’s just part of life here. We know the regulars who pass by every day. It feels like home even when it is loud.
