R. S. Silks

We are located in Shop No. 34 inside the B. S. V. Complex. It’s right on 11 Basavanna Lane, near the Avenue Road Cross and J. M. Road. If you know that area, you know how crowded it gets with all the shops and people moving around. We deal with silks here. It’s a lot of folding and showing different colors to people who come by our counter. The shop isn't huge, but we pack a lot into it. Dealing with silk means you have to be careful with how you handle the fabric so it doesn't snag or get ruined. We open up pretty early to get the dusting done before the rush starts. The complex has all sorts of businesses, so there's always someone talking or moving boxes in the hallway outside our door. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It's just us at R. S. Silks making sure we have enough variety for whoever walks in. Sometimes the lighting in the lane isn't great, but inside the shop, we try to keep it bright enough to see the patterns clearly. We’ve been at this for a bit now and know many of the regulars. It’s a decent place to work, even if the traffic on J. M. Road makes it hard for deliveries to reach us sometimes. We just focus on the fabric and the customers who find their way to our little corner in the complex. It’s a lot of manual work and patience.
