You can find us on the mezzanine floor of 133/2 on Commercial Street. If you know how busy Commercial Street gets, you know it is a bit of a challenge just getting to the door. Asiatic Arts And Crafts has been in this spot for quite some time. Being on the mezzanine means we are tucked away from the main noise of the street, but we can still hear the crowds below. The space is filled with all sorts of things we have collected and produced over the years. It is a bit of a squeeze once you get all the inventory inside. We do not really have big signs or bright lights. Most people come to us through word of mouth or because they have been dealing with us for a long time. The stairs up are a bit narrow, so we have to be careful when moving large items. It is a family-run kind of vibe here. We spend our days sorting through the stock, checking for any damage, and talking to the craftsmen who bring in their work. It is not a fancy gallery. It feels more like a lived-in workshop or a very full storage room. We try to keep everything organized, but with so many small pieces, it is a constant battle. Sometimes we stay late to finish up the inventory counts. It is just how we operate. We are here most days except for the occasional local holiday.
