Working on MG Road is always interesting because of all the people and the traffic below. Our office is in Barton Centre on the 8th floor. It’s a big building and sometimes the elevators take a while to come down. Ashed Properties Invest Pvt Ltd is where we handle a lot of property matters and investments. From our window on the 8th floor, you can see quite a bit of the city. It’s a different world up here compared to the sidewalk. We have a few meeting rooms and a lot of filing cabinets. Real estate involves a lot of documents and we spend plenty of time going through them. It’s not all glamorous; a lot of it is just checking details and making phone calls. We don’t have a big reception with someone in a suit. Usually, one of us just looks up from our desk when someone walks in. We deal with people looking for offices or homes, and we just tell them what’s available. MG Road is a busy place to be, and being in Barton Centre means we are right in the middle of everything. Sometimes we go downstairs for a quick tea at one of the stalls when things get too quiet. We’ve been in this building for some time and we know the other people on our floor. It’s a business environment but we keep things pretty relaxed in our own office. We just do our work and go home like everyone else at the end of the day.
