Arihant Mineral & Alloy

Our place is situated at No.5/125 on Lalbagh Road. We are right across from the Passport Office, which means there are always people around. We deal with minerals and alloys. It’s not the cleanest kind of work. There’s often a bit of grit on the surfaces and our clothes get marked up pretty easily. We have samples of different materials lying around on the tables. Our office is more of a workspace than a showroom. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who come in to ask about specific materials. We don't have any fancy displays or clever slogans. We just know our products and where they come from. Some days are slow and we just sit and drink tea while looking out at the traffic on Lalbagh Road. Other days, it’s a constant stream of questions and orders. We’ve been here for a while, so we’ve seen the Passport Office crowd change over the years. We keep our records in big ledgers and try to stay on top of the inventory in the back. The space is a bit cramped because metal and mineral samples take up a lot of room. We don't worry too much about the decor. As long as we can find what we need and the items are ready, we’re doing okay. It’s a tough business but it keeps us busy every single day and that is enough for us.
