Anusha Tea Depot

Our shop is at number 10, right on Station Main Road near Timmapuri Circle. Since we are so close to the station, there is always someone rushing past. It feels like the whole town goes through this circle at some point during the day. We have been sitting here watching the traffic for a long time. The tea depot itself is pretty straightforward. We have rows of containers and the floor is mostly swept, though tea dust gets everywhere no matter what we do. It’s just part of the job. We don’t have much in the way of decorations. Just some old calendars on the wall and a few chairs for when our legs get tired. The morning rush is the biggest part of our day. Everyone wants their tea before they catch the train or head into the offices nearby. We try to keep up, but sometimes the line gets long and people have to wait their turn. We don't mind the chaos too much. It makes the day go by faster. When things quiet down in the late morning, we sit and have a cup ourselves. The air always smells like dried leaves and a bit of the street smoke. It’s a plain place, but it works for us. We just keep the doors open and see who comes in from the circle. There’s not much more to it than that. It is just life here on Station Main Road.
