Anukul Silks

If you go down to Cubbonpet, you will find us located in the Chanappa Complex. We are on the first floor at S/81. It is one of those busy buildings where there is always someone moving something around or shouting down the hallway. The stairs are a bit narrow and steep, but once you get up here, it is all about the silks. We spend a lot of our time looking at different fabrics and handling orders for various people. Cubbonpet is a very old and crowded part of the city, which has its own charm but can be a bit of a mess with all the 26th Cross traffic. Our shop is usually full of rolls of cloth and there is not much room to walk around on some days. We do not have fancy lights or a big showroom feel to the place. It is more like a working warehouse where people come to see what we actually have in stock. Most of our regular customers know exactly where to find us in the complex. We have been here long enough that the constant noise from the street below does not really bother us anymore. We just keep the fans going and get through the pile of work. It is a lot of manual work, lifting and moving heavy stuff, and checking the quality of the silk threads. It is a simple business, really. We just stay here and work.
