Sri Lakshmi Engineering Works

Our workshop is at No. 9 and 10 on Andralli Main Road. We are in the SLV Industrial Area, right near the Shrushruthi Bank. It is a noisy part of town because of all the factories around us. Sri Lakshmi Engineering Works is full of heavy machinery and the smell of cut metal. There are always iron shavings on the floor, so you have to watch where you step. We spend the whole day wearing heavy boots and getting grease on our shirts. The sound of the lathes and welding machines makes it hard to talk sometimes. We have a big metal gate that stays open all day to let the heat out. The bank nearby is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. We take on a lot of different jobs, from fixing small parts to making bigger steel structures. It is hard work and our hands are usually stained black by the end of the shift. We have a small corner with a water cooler where we take breaks. There is no fancy office here, just a workbench with a lot of heavy tools and some blueprints pinned to the wall. The trucks come in and out of the industrial area all day long, kicking up a lot of dust. We just focus on getting the machining right so the parts fit like they should. It is a rough environment but we are used to the grit.
