Alfred Herbert Ltd. is located at Post Box No. 4805 on Jc Road. Being on Jc Road means we are right in the middle of a very crowded and old part of the city. There’s always the sound of horns and people talking right outside our windows. Our building has been here for a long time, and you can tell by the way the walls look and the old-fashioned layout. It’s a place with a lot of history, even if it’s just a regular workplace to us now. We have shelves filled with old files and parts that have been there for years. The space is a bit narrow, like many of the shops in this area. We usually have to move things around just to make a bit of room to walk. Most of the staff has been with us for a good while, so we all know how the place runs. We don't have a big sign out front, just enough for people to find the entrance. It's often dark inside because the buildings are so close together, so we keep the lights on all day. Lunch usually comes from one of the many small eateries around Jc Road. We don't worry about being modern or flashy. We just handle the business that comes through the door and try to keep things organized in our own way. It's a busy, cramped, and honest way to spend the day. We just get the work done.
