If you look for us in Ahmedabad, you will find our place at 1792, Kumbhar Gali, right near the Kalupur Tower. It is a very old part of the city and the streets are quite narrow, so parking is always a bit of a headache for everyone. The office feels like it belongs in the neighborhood, nothing too modern or flashy on the outside. We have been working as Aakirna Architects from this spot for a while. Inside, it is mostly just desks covered in sketches and empty tea cups. We talk a lot about the buildings in the area because they have so much history. Our days are filled with meeting people and trying to explain how a wall should look or where a window should go. It gets very hot in Ahmedabad during the summer months, so the office can feel a bit stuffy, but we just keep working through it. We do not use any big words or try to impress anyone with fancy talk. We just like to get the job done right for the people who come to see us. Sometimes we walk over to the tower just to get some air. It is a simple life here in Kalupur, and we are happy with our small corner of the city. We keep our records and drawings in old cabinets and try to keep track of every site we are helping with. It is just a lot of drafting and talking.
