Aakar Engineering

Our workshop is located at 29-1/2 on Kanakapura Road. It’s a busy stretch of road and sometimes it’s hard for people to find the turn-in because of the traffic. Aakar Engineering is a place where we do a lot of metal work and mechanical stuff. We have a few big machines that take up most of the room, so you have to watch your step when you walk inside. The walls are covered in calendars and old notes about different jobs we have finished. We don’t really have a lobby or a waiting area, just a few stools near the entrance if someone needs to sit down. Most of the time, the air is filled with sparks and the smell of grease. We have a small crew and we’ve all been working together for quite a while now. It’s a straightforward kind of shop where we just focus on the task at hand. If the machines are running, it gets pretty loud, so we usually talk in shouts. We take our lunch under the shade outside when we can. It isn't a glamorous job but it pays the bills and we like being our own bosses in a way. The address is a bit tricky but once you see the metal scraps outside, you know you’re at the right place. We just keep our heads down and get the work finished as it comes. Sometimes we stay late when a job needs finishing before the next morning comes.
