Panchashree Farmer Producer Company is situated in the Dakshina region, specifically at the place of Kariyappa Chidgal Gowda. The address is a bit of a mouthful with Ajjihiltluballakka Gtr, but local people know exactly where to find us. We are a group of farmers who decided to pool our resources together. Kariyappa is the main contact and he’s usually busy with some task or another on the property. This part of the country is very green and we get a lot of rain, which is good for some things but makes the work harder in other ways. We handle various types of produce depending on the season and what the members are growing. It’s not a polished operation with a front desk. Most of the time, you’ll find us in the yard or near the storage sheds. We deal with the realities of farming like pests, bad weather, and fluctuating market rates. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just grow things and try to sell them so we can keep going for another year. The community here is tight-knit and most of the farmers are neighbors. It’s a practical way of working and we prefer it that way. If you’re coming from the main road, it takes a little while to get deep into the Dakshina area where we are located, but the scenery is worth the drive.
